Ludlow MP Philip Dunne has welcomed the news that Ludlow’s main Post Office will be upgraded next month to the new style of Post Office. The re-fit will mean a modern open plan environment with extended opening hours, whilst maintaining the same products and services.
Mr Dunne said “The changes to Ludlow Post Office are part of a three year investment and support programme which will see half of the Post Office network converting to the new style of branches.
“Longer opening hours and a more customer friendly layout will help sustain the post office and make it more practical for use by residents of Ludlow and the surrounding area.
“The Government is committed to maintaining rural postal services and safeguarding Post Office branches is a vital part of this programme, so I am pleased that the Post Office is committing to this investment in Ludlow.”
The re-vamped Ludlow Post Office will open on Friday 1st November at 1pm. The branch will be closed from 5.30pm Wednesday 23rd October to allow work to commence. Posters and leaflets will available in store to inform customers of the changes.
Ludlow’s local Post Office branch at East Hamlet, which Mr Dunne was instrumental in securing a few years ago, will provide services to the town while the main post office is being refurbished.
