Philip Dunne MP officially opens a newly converted flat at Abbeyfield House, Bishops Castle. The flat is designed for a couple and is part of the Sheltered Home; it is generously sized with a double bedroom, en-suite shower room, large lounge and separate kitchen.
Mr Dunne said: "It was good to see Abbeyfield expanding its range of facilities in Bishop's Castle. It offers independent living for the elderly and this new double suite will allow a couple to enjoy a comfortable flat, only previously available to single people."
Bob Berry, the Chairman of Abbeyfield in Bishops Castle said: ‘We are delighted to offer this facility, having already ten en-suite bedsits for single occupancy. We expect there will be a strong demand for this double bedroom unit in our friendly homely atmosphere. The rents we charge cover two meals a day and all outgoings including heating. Abbeyfield is a “not for profit” organisation, managed by volunteers so rents can be kept very competitive.’
