Local MP Philip Dunne was on hand to celebrate the official opening of the new Post Office in Highley garden village today.
The Post Office opened a counter within the existing Dhillons Express shop in Highley Garden Village. This will be open seven days a week with normal shop opening hours.
Mr Dunne said “It is not so long ago that I was campaigning with local residents in Highley to save the Post Offices from closure. So I was really pleased officially to open the new post office and to congratulate Jaswinder Dhillon and his son Harkanal for their initiative to provide Post Office services within their thriving convenience store.
Mr Dunne added “This is only the second ‘local’ style of post office in the Ludlow constituency and will be open for over 98 hours a week as it will have the same opening hours as the shop itself. This is exactly the sort of innovation which will keep post office services available and relevant for local residents, which I warmly welcome.”
