Following the resignation of the local Liberal Democrat Councillor, MP Philip Dunne is backing Georgie Ellis as a stable, hardworking candidate for Bishop’s Castle.
The MP said Georgie’s strong track record of involvement within the community showed she would be an excellent advocate for Bishop’s Castle.
Georgie has highlighted key issues in Bishop’s Castle, including good transport links, quality healthcare in the community, more businesses and jobs in Bishop’s Castle, and better broadband and mobile connections.
Mr Dunne said: "Georgie will be a stronger voice for Bishop's Castle. I have known her for over 12 years, and her track record of working for the local community is strong.
She is a powerful character who will speak her mind and champion the Bishop's Castle area at Shirehall. If you want Bishop's Castle's voice to be heard, you should back Georgie."
Georgie has also received the backing of StJohn Penney, former South Shropshire District Councillor.
StJohn Penney, former South Shropshire District Councillor said: "Sadly the LibDems don't seem to be able to stay the course. Time for a complete change and I can think of no-one who would be better than Georgie Ellis."
