West Mercia’s newly elected Police and Crime Commissioner has started recruitment for five new posts, to help ensure the best possible service for local communities.
John Campion is looking for a Deputy PCC, along with new Commissioner’s Ambassadors for Worcestershire, Herefordshire, Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin.
John Campion said: “I made a promise that I would be visible and accessible to people right across West Mercia. These appointments will help me achieve that, whilst delivering better value for public money.”
“To understand local priorities I need to engage with as many people as possible, from different areas and diverse backgrounds. West Mercia is a very challenging geographic area though, so these new posts will increase and improve my direct links with local communities.”
“I promised an open, transparent and competitive recruitment process, and that will be the case. I also promised back office efficiencies, and these posts will deliver that. The new Ambassador scheme alone will save around £30,000 a year, by putting all its resources where they should be – out in our communities, engaging with people”.
More details about all of the roles are available via this link, with a closing date of midday on 27th May 2016.
