South Shropshire MP Philip Dunne is encouraging local employers to attend his Bridgnorth Jobs Fair.
The event is free for both exhibitors and jobseekers, and will be held at Bridgnorth Leisure Centre on 10th October from 10am to 1pm.
Mr Dunne said: "I am encouraging employers in the Bridgnorth area who are looking for new employees or apprentices to come along to the third Jobs Fair I have organised in Bridgnorth.
Jobs Fairs have provided an excellent opportunity to access a large number of candidates for any vacancy. Over the course of one morning an employer could potentially meet over a hundred candidates for a position, increasing the chance of finding someone who is the right fit for your company.
Employers also can meet potential applicants face to face. In an increasingly digital age of online applications, it can be hard for some jobseekers to stick out from the crowd, even though they might be an ideal candidate. Jobs Fairs can provide a useful initial screen of talented applicants.
Exhibitors at a Jobs Fair also have an excellent opportunity to increase brand awareness, both to consumers and other businesses. Public events like Jobs Fair provide local businesses with an opportunity to demonstrate what they do in a positive light to their local community, fulfilling part of their corporate social responsibility mission and enhancing roots within a community.
Several exhibitors at these Jobs Fairs have found them an excellent networking opportunity to meet other local businesses and professionals working in the area.β
Mr Dunne added: "This is a free event, so I hope as many employers and jobseekers as possible will attend my Bridgnorth Jobs Fair. Many people from Bridgnorth travel to bigger employment areas like Telford and Kidderminster for work, so I encourage employers from neighbouring areas to attend as well.β
Businesses of any size wishing to exhibit can call 01584 872187 to arrange a free stand at the Jobs Fair or email Jane Gibson atβ [email protected] for more information. There will also be a Jobs Board display at the event for those wishing to advertise vacancies but are unable to attend on the day.
