Date: Thursday 12th January 2023 Time: 7 for supper at 7.30pm Venue: The Cliffe at Dinham, SY8 2JF
We will start the New Year with a fascinating talk from Paul Kidson who will focus on a Letterpress book printed in Antarctica in the winter of 1907 called Aurora Australis.
The book was written, printed and first bound (using broken up packing cases) by the Polar Party to ward off boredom during the Winter of 1908 as part of Ernest Shackleton’s 1907-1909 expedition to the Antarctic aboard the Nimrod!
Our venue, the Cliffe at Dinham, is an award-winning restaurant where we will enjoy a two course meal followed by tea or coffee. The menu is printed below so please let us know in plenty of time if you have any special dietary requirements. Ample free parking is available at the venue.
